All track is now MP low poly and all signals are of the GWR or Southern semaphore type. The route is fully detailed the whole of the main line from Exeter to Newton Abbot and most of the Exmouth line from Topsham to Exmouth. At present trains approaching Exeter from Taunton or Barnstaple need to use the "via riverside main dn" trackmark to stop them from entering the goods lines and yard like wise those leaving Exeter will need to use the "via riverside main up" trackmark. I have listed trackmarks that need to be used under Via under it own Via heading in order to find them quicker. To stop trains taking the shortest route (Teign Valley Line) from Exeter to Newton Abbot, and if no station stops are made inbetween them, you will need "via dawlish warren dn" or "up" trackmarks.
The Exmouth line has a trigger at Topsham station so the Exmouth bound train will have to wait for the up train to trigger it before it can enter the single line track. The line is capable of a half hourly service
Portals at Bristol, Taunton, Torquay and Plymouth. I have placed three at each location as a large number of trains sometimes cause problems. Portal 1) does not return or produce trains. 2) does not produce trains but does return trains via portal 3. 3) this portal produces trains and returns the trains from portal 2. I have found this to work well as all trains entering or leaving are all traveling in the same direction. Honiton does not have portal 2 so uses portal 3 for retuning trains. Barnstaple and Sidmouth are only a single portal that does not return trains.
For those who use the boats there are no signals to control them. I found that boats slow down much slower than trains and would always pass them when they were at red. As i have placed a number of tracks for them to use they have a choice to which track is available to travel on. Boats that use Starcross and Dawlish have a "via rev" (reversing point) trackmark for them in order that they can reverse out then travel the correct way to the next destination. At all boat passenger loading areas the boats will need to reverse from the dockside. Boats entering the docks need to enter useing the "via inout" trackmark this will then pass the ferries that may be berthed in the dock entrance.
